Fundraiser for Ashley Graves

Donation protected
Ashley Graves, 24, is a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and a friend. In addition, she is a nursing student, having just been accepted into Atlanta Metropolitan College nurses program, a self proclaimed poet who loves to write poetry in her spare time and a ball of energy that will always have you smiling and laughing. She is a young woman at an age where she should be enjoying all of life’s joys. Instead, she is confound to a hospital bed where she’s experiencing a pain she has described as “absolutely unbearable” and a fear of sleep due to ptsd and traumatic dreams of that dreadful night.

Sunday morning around 1:30am while at a gas station in the WestView Atlanta area, Ashley was carjacked by a crew of young men who proceeded to shoot her after she complied with their requests and begged to not be shot. Bleeding profusely, Ashley fled her car for her life. Ashley made her way into the gas station where she was followed by the gunman. Once inside, the gunman was unable to get to her and left in her vehicle. Ashley drifted in and out of consciousness as she awaited medical assistance and help. She has suffered damage to her small intestine, colon, and has lost an ovary. The bullet also hit an artery in her leg which caused the leg to lose some feeling. An additional surgery was made to transfer nerves from the healthier leg to the other to preserve feeling. Currently, Ashley is unable to be independent and needs constant supervision and assistance doing things as simple as moving her leg or scratching an itch. Ashley is currently stable although, the amount of pain she is experiencing is heart breaking.

The inner Atlanta area is home to Atlanta’s HBCU’s (Morehouse College, Spelman College, Clark Atlanta University), Georgia Tech, Atlanta Technical College, Georgia State University and Atlanta Metropolitan College. This area is filled with young aspiring college students that are preyed upon by Atlanta’s criminal residents. The violence must stop and the disregard for an individuals life mustn’t be tolerated.

We are asking for any donations that will go towards Ashley’s medical bills, physical therapy and counseling that will be needed for her mental wellness after such a traumatizing incident.
