Funding My Olympic Dream

I’ve been wrestling for as long as I can remember and ever since I first stepped foot on the mat I’ve had one ultimate goal. One goal that has stayed in the back of my mind through every practice, every victory, and every heartbreak. That goal has been to be an Olympic Champion. In recent years that goal has shifted from the background to now where it has become my sole focus. 

Since becoming a full time Greco athlete I’ve made 2 different Senior National finals as well as having been a Junior National Finalist and aU23 National Finalist. I’ve wrestled on some of the biggest stages in the country but nothing in comparison to what’s to come. The Olympic Trials on April 11th.

These next few months (and truly the rest of my career) are crucial, and this is where I need your help. Growing up I have been blessed to have been surrounded by a support system that’s given me the opportunities to become the wrestler I am today but as the stages get bigger so do the costs. What was once a car ride and bunkhouse stay in Iowa has turned into a international plane ticket and hotel in Sweden for training camps. Going to Fargo for a tournament now means going to Italy. I cannot stress how blessed I am to have these opportunities but I simply cannot get there alone.

Prior to Covid I was working 3-4 late nights a week while still going to school full time at the University of Minnesota to help fund my career. Although Covid has given me more time to train it has also increased the financial burden of it all.  Any and everything helps right now and I just want to say thank you. I know better than most that Covid has made things tight and I completely understand that donations aren’t possible for everyone so all I ask is that you share this post and help do whatever you can so that I can continue to follow my Olympic Dream.Tokyo 2021 here we come!
