Our school is being renamed, which is a step in the right direction, but the real focus needs to be on the fact that we are economically disadvantaged, and money will be better served improving our resources and facilities to foster a greater learning environment. More resources and better facilities would allow our low-income students to craft a better future for themselves at our school. School board funding will take a long process to be approved, so we must act NOW. Any money raised goes directly to helping our school and community in providing better education for the future. Thank you so much for your donation, know that it is direct funding for the future. This money is raised privately, but I am in touch with Dr. Nichols and other administration to ensure all the funds will be directed to the school. (Read list of things the money will go towards)

Inequities felt by the Stonewall Community, in no particular order:
Facility issues
Old bathrooms with only cold water, Usually empty paper towel dispensers instead of air dryers, which are more env. friendly and save $ in the long run,Pink, avocado and baby blue bathroom tile.
Doors’ red trim has chipped and have vandalism on them
Poor quality desks. We actually have had security send us emails with photos of desks deemed “unsafe” because they have cut students. Better quality desks would allow more Origin projects.
Cooling and heating is not reliable; either too hot or too cold
Air flows through some rooms so loudly students can’t hear. This can be understood by industry workers.
Our school pays for after school buses; richer schools don’t because parent picks up or they drive.
Activity buses run only twice a week preventing more students from engaging in extracurricular activities.
New schools get ALL NEW FURNITURE. 50 year old schools must figure out a way to obtain furniture. This is put on the back burner and as a result, classrooms are filled with hand-me-downs. FURNITURE SHOULD BE IN THE REFRESH. Our students shouldn’t have to be ok with someone else’s cast offs.
Landscaping, dead bushes,
Old, damaged , stained uniforms for all sports, band, etc.
Our cafeteria has old, mismatched dilapidated seating
Railings are coming out of the cinder block in stairwells
Our classrooms have mismatched desks
Our light is dull; new schools have nicer lighting/bulbs or something
Our classrooms are simply smaller; renovate us and get rid of the locker bays so we can have some bigger spaces
Give us a courtyard and outside space
Technology Issues
A whole department of teachers shares ONE printer; another printer has been broken all year
Students have one printer in the library. They don't have printers at home so rely on IT. There are 2700 students here to share one printer. More printers allows for more flyers that would allow more students to hear about programs such as breakfast with engineers.
A shortage of old ASUS tablets that barely work which some students take SOLs on prevents students from getting work done to the best of their ability.
Wifi that is spotty at best
So many different Smartboards that our one technology staff member has a hard time determining which kind is in each room, so repairs take much longer
