Funding for Nanny

My Grandmother (we call her Nanny) is one the kindest, most generous people I know. She would help anyone, regardless of what they needed. She would gladly give her last five bucks to help someone who needed it. Now it’s her who needs the help.
On Friday, July 5th, 2019, Nanny was taken to Brantford General Hospital by ambulance. She had fallen down (still unknown what caused her to blackout). She has done extensive damage to both arms. She has fractured the left arm (which had sustained a severe work related injury years ago and has limited use of that arm) and dislocated the right elbow and broke it. The surgeon said she did quite a number, she didn’t just break it...she smashed it into 4 pieces. She had emergency surgery to have the radial head replaced, ligaments repaired etc... but she is still in the hospital. They can’t release her until she has done some physiotherapy as she can’t do things on her own. She can’t feed herself, comb her hair...basic life skills which require both arms, or at least one good working arm (which she doesn’t have).
She is not the kind kind of person to ask for help. We’re hoping, as a family, that we can rally together and share this to try to alleviate some only the financial burden placed upon her. The surgeon says she will be off work for approximately six months. Because she’s over 65, she no longer has benefits through her employer. She can file for EI sick benefits, but they are only good for less than half the time she will be without her employment income.
