Funding for International AG Races

My name is Zoe Danko-McAlister and I am an eighteen-year-old triathlete based in Drogheda, Co.Louth. I got into triathlon (swim, bike, and run) in 2017 when a triathlon coach saw me swimming laps at the local pool and asked me to try out a couple of training sessions with the triathlon club. Now, four years later, I am Ireland’s 2022 Junior Elite National Aquathlon (swim and run) Champion, and I am also proud to have qualified to represent Ireland at the Age Group 2023 European Championships in Madrid, Spain, and the Age Group World Triathlon championships in Hamburg, Germany. I am incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to race for Ireland and I hope to make the country proud. However, Triathlon Ireland does not cover the costs that go with racing internationally, which means that I have to personally fund my way to these races. My family and I have spent the last couple of months trying to find a sponsor to fund me, but unfortunately, we have had no luck and are now moving on to our second option, a GoFundMe page. The money we raise through this GoFundMe will be used towards race fees, flight tickets, accommodation, Ireland kit, and meals. I understand that there are many pressures and unexpected costs these days, so any level of donation would be extremely helpful and much appreciated. If for whatever reason, there is money that goes unused, it will be donated to a charity or a sports aid foundation. Thank you for your consideration and support.
