Funding for Euro Deaf Golf Championship 2023

My name is Russell, 42 years old and was born deaf. I have been a keen competitor in a variety of sports and once represented Great Britain in the 2005 Deaflympics for badminton. An amazing opportunity has risen for me to represent the England Deaf Golf team at the European Deaf Golf Championship in Åland, Finland, in July 2023.

Sadly, there is currently little funding from governing bodies and funding agencies to help cover costs towards the various expenses of competition golf so I have to gather the funds myself.

This fundraising will cover various costs such as travel, equipment, training/lessons, preparation, accommodation and insurance. Any additional funds will be donated to England Deaf Golf to fund Deaf youth training days and fun golfing activities.

With your help, this would be massively important to me as it would allow me to pass on my experience and encouragement to Deaf children and communities who also wish to play the game and have similar opportunities to attend accessible golf events and championships.
