Funding medical education for a talented, ambitious and hardworking young Kenyan student
Focus is to help a young Kenyan to a future in his country, in which he is very determined to make a difference.
Background
I (Maria from Denmark) have been knowing Salims family for the past 17 years. During this period I have seen the children grow into some lovely, ambitious young men. Salim is the second born, now 22 years old. Since I retired last year, it has become difficult for me to finance the rest of his education, so I am applying for some assistance.
Personal profile
Salim is the son of Rama and Alice. They live in a village about 25 km south of Mombasa.
Already as a very young child Salim proved to be very methodical, empathic, helpful, kind - and extremely interested to learn. He has successfully completed his college stay with fine marks followed by a strong desire of studying medicine.
Education
Salim has currently finished the first year of the medical study in Kagamega, Mount Kenya University. The remaining period is 3 years with the possibility to specialize afterwards. http://www.mku.ac.ke/ ).

Per year the estimate based on expences for the first year has been:
- Purchase of books, partly for the entire study

- Mattress
- Mosquitonet
- Food etc.

Salim is very greatful for any donations and hopes to assist his family, when he gets a job.
Salim has the opportunity of starting medicine semester in september 2017 where first rate of the tuition needs to be paid.
Newsletter (mail) on Salims student life will be distributed twice a year to all donators.
