Fund Don's Fight Against Cancer

My name is Marissa and my father Don Stabe was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer, a disease that both his father and father in law lost their lives to. For those of you who do not know my dad I am genuinely surprised. Growing up, I have watched him touch the lives and hearts of everyone he has ever met. He has spent his years in the ministry as a music pastor, teacher, encourager, counselor, supporter, mentor, father and friend to more people than I could count. He is provider and protector of our family and has been the backbone of strength through the years for every physical, financial, and emotional crisis. After my mother had a cardiac event that almost cost her life, she has not been able to work and my dad has continued to find a way to keep her healthy and has made an effort to always be proactive with health issues before they are too far gone. This led to the discovery and diagnosis that we have today. There are still medical bills unpaid from my moms hospitalization and now dad's bills are just starting to roll in as well as upcoming surgery that will be overwhelming. His insurance does not cover treatment at MD Anderson which means he had to seek care from another hospital. His surgery is urgent and will have to be done during the Christmas holiday break which puts a stress during an already tough financial time. I know there are many of you that have been blessed in some way by my dad. He has spent weeks by some of your hospital beds, counseled many of you through emotional trauma, fed those who had nothing, spent hours on the phone talking just because you needed it, stepped away from his own needs and family to help yours, given his last dollar to strangers, coached someone through divorce, married you and your loved one, or invited you in to his home whether short term or long, and called you family. So, I am calling out to everyone that can relate to at least one of these to help fund his fight! Make a donation, say a prayer, call on your church families, send encouragement, anything to help support him through this difficult time. The world would be much worse without him in it!
