1 Granito de Amor

Somos un grupo de personas que creemos en Venezuela y que la situación actual puede mejorar, pero todos debemos formar parte de este cambio y que mejor forma que invirtiendo en nuestro futuro, en los niños y bebés que necesitan nuestro granito de amor.
Nos unimos después de llevar una primera donación de leche al Hospital Clínico Universitario, ese día nos enteramos que con esa poquita leche iban a alimentar a los bebés hospitalizados ese día, pues el hospital no contaba con nada mas para darle a los niños ese día. Al enterarnos de esta situación Comenzamos a correr la voz y se conformó un grupo de voluntarios que recolectamos donaciones y la llevamos semanalmente al hospital. En las primeras visitas nos enteramos que las necesidades no se restringían solamente a la leche, a los médicos se les agotó algo tan básico como el jabón de lavarse las manos y el alcohol, no hay medicinas básicas , el agua falta constantemente y las familias necesitan apoyo en todos los sentidos, solo por mencionar algunas de las cosas mas básicas. Por esto actualmente recolectamos donaciones de equipo médico, medicinas, alimentos y demás. Cuando no conseguimos algo vía donación lo compramos, y si aparece un caso urgente lo ayudamos con con la medicina y el equipo medico que requiera a través del dinero que recolectamos por esta vía, también usamos el dinero para pagar los envíos urgentes de las donaciones que se reciben fuera del país.

1 Granito de Amor is a Venezuelan non-governmental organization that represents a group of volunteer and collaborators united for the sole purpose of helping the children of the Hospital Clínico Universitario de Caracas, Venezuela.

Our mission:
Is together donations for the benefit of hospitalized children in the departments of neonatology and pediatrics of the Hospital Clínico Universitario de Caracas and other institutions.

Our vision:
Is to build a national and international support network and channel donations to ensure the timely provision of supplies to hospitalized children, focusing primarily on medical and nutritional supplies.

Who is leading this cause?
A group of volunteers from the United States and in Venezuela and a group of collaborators that are distributed in different countries; We join efforts to consolidate all donated resources (financial and physical) in order to meet the needs of hospitalized children who require special diets, prescription drugs, routine and specialized medical examinations, laboratories, among others.

How are the donations being used?
The funds are used to buy food, medical supplies, medicines, lab tests, and other medical related fees that can support anyone at that specific moment. Based on a list that we publish on our social media. Most of these donations are send using local freight forwarder companies that are supporting our foundation.

Next Steps?
Once the supplies are in Venezuela, we have a few collaborators that are in charge of delivering them to Hospitals, Houses, Foster homes or specific individuals.

We care about who is help us:
Venezuela has become an unsafe place for many of our contributors, as since the many government officials target this types of help, stealing them for their own benefit, creating more need for the people we are trying to help, and in some instances the personal safety of our contributors is at risk for the simple fact of helping us or any humanitarian cause.

It is not a secret that Venezuela is going through very difficult times, and to meet the growing demand,

1 Granito de Amor depends on national and international donations. The funds we collect will be used to buy food, medicines, and medical supplies, as well as to pay for the costs of sending donations to Venezuela if necessary.

Our Achievements so far:
Currently, we have been able to expand our support to more than 25 hospitals and nursing homes that receive medication, nutritional supplements, food, and clothes. In the same way, we have also decided to help the community of Turgua in el Hatillo where there are more than 300 families in a precarious housing and health situation. Thanks to the support of many people, we have been able to conduct Free Clinics in the area as well as recreational activities for children; however, without donations, it is almost impossible to achieve our goals.
