Set up and run monthly Mental Health Cafe in Derby

Pony Partnerships CIC and Elements Tea and Coffee House will be working together to set up and run a mental health Cafe in Derby City Centre.
We are raising money for set up and running costs for the Cafe.
We need to pay for the venue, and staffing for the cafe as the event will run outside of normal opening hours. We also need to cover volunteer recruitment including DBS checks, safeguarding training and travel expenses. We also need to fund administration time and printing costs to advertise the service. We will also have equipment costs for any activities that we may run as part of the the provision.
Our mental health cafe will run on the first Tuesday of the month starting September 2019. The aim is for people to drink tea or coffee, eat cake, and discuss mental health. The hope is to help reduce mental health stigma and to help people make the most of their lives.
The group has no agenda, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a support or counselling session.
The Cafe runs:
- On a not for profit basis
- In an accessible, respectful and confidential space
- With no intention of leading people to any conclusion, product or
course of action
- Alongside refreshing drinks and nourishing food – and cake!
Come along and spend time with our trained mental health professionals and peer support workers, in a confidential, anonymous space where it is safe to just be you. We welcome the myriad of emotions that you might feel, and aim to hold a safe space where you can just be you, right here, right now.
Please note that we will not ask for any identifying information. Due to the anonymity offered at these sessions, they are open to those age 18 and over. All staff are DBS checked and trained. Please see policies at www.ponypartnerships.com/policies
