Hello everyone,

On the early morning hours of July 8, 2017, my father woke up suffering from a hemorrhagic stroke. He was immediately rushed to Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD. Upon arrival, it was found that my father had two aneurysms in his brain, one of which had already ruptured and caused the stroke. Soon after, he was transferred to Medstar Washington Hospital Center in Washington D.C. to undergo surgery to stop the bleeding in his brain. During the surgery, the surgeons found the second aneurysm in his brain located behind the right ear. At the moment, he is recovering from his surgery in the ICU, being monitored around the clock by the nurses caring for him. The doctors are doing everything they can to drain all excessive blood in his brain while simoultanousely trying to prevent the second aneurysm from rupturing. He is expected to go through a second brain surgery to ultimately remove both aneurysms in a month. My father has been in and out of consciousness due to the excessive amount of blood putting pressure onto his brain.

My father has always been a caring and very hard working man, constantly working long and stressful hours just to provide for our family. He is currently employed full time as a chef at Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda, MD and as a part time driving instructor in Washington D.C. He is well respected at both of his jobs for constantly being involved in his work as well as developing many great and loving relationships with his coworkers and students. My father has also provided a numerous amounts of donations throughout the years to his family and hometown community in La Unión, El Salvador from which he was born and raised.

Even with the assist of his health insurance, the cost of his medical bills will become a huge hassle and burden to my family. The expected hospital stay is foreseen to possibly over a month. Once he recovers from both his surgeries, he will then be admitted into rehab for a long period of time. My father will unfortunately be incapable to operate any vehicles for some time causing him to lose his second job as a driving instructor. Subsequently, creating a tremendous financial burden for my family.

This campaign has been set up to provide financial means for our family as well as to help pay for my father’s medical bills. We are helping my father as much as we can. Donate as you are able to. No donation is too small and will be greatly appreciated as it will be put towards assisting my father has he regains his strength. Please support my father by sharing this fundraiser with faithful friends and family along with keeping him in your prayers as he makes his way through a long road to recovery.

Thank you for your time taken in reading this campaign and God Bless.
