My name is William and I am currently a student at Colorado State University studying Political Science. I am raising money to help fund my study abroad program - LGBTQ Policy & Advocacy in Spain. As a member of the LGBTQ community, I find it extremely important to fight for progressive policy goals that aim to make society more friendly and inclusive to the LGBTQ community. Growing up in America is
a struggle for many in the LGBTQ community, however, I was incredibly lucky to have a family that was supportive. Many people, especially in other countries, don't have access to supportive family members or a progressive society in which they can feel safe and equal. By going to Spain and advocating for such progressive policies that will protect LGBTQ members I not only hope to promote equality but also hope to gain valuable experience that will help me to fight for progressive social policy reforms at home and abroad in the future.
With today's current political atmosphere, having educated and progressive people fighting for the rights that are being threatened is imperative if we are to provide an inclusive and equal society for all.
Below is a list of expenses that I aim to raise in order to participate in this opportunity in Spain.
