Fund for Merriman, the stray dog

Donation protected
"Merriman" is a honey-colored Chihuahua/Dachshund stray named after the Merriman Park / University Manor neighborhood in northeast Dallas, where he (presumably) was dumped in May 2017. He roamed the neighborhood streets for more than a week, eluding capture from numerous neighbors until he wandered into the back yard of a home undergoing repairs and some workers were able to confine him on Wednesday, May 31.

Tracy and Jake, MP/UM residents who had been trying to catch him, took him to Eastlake Veterinary Center. He was scanned for a microchip but had none, which is not surprising because he is not neutered and was covered with fleas. He had two wounds on his shoulder that may have been bite or talon marks from a predator. Lisa, another MP/UM neighbor, came to Eastlake to assist and named him Merriman.

Medical expenses: Merriman is being boarded at Eastlake, where he will receive vaccinations, blood tests and be neutered, in addition to other treatment he might need before he is adopted. His bills are expected to exceed $1,000. All funds will be used directly for Merriman's care. Please also let us know if you are interested in adopting this sweet dog who survived the streets.
