Medical Recovery Fund for Melissa VanderBaaren
Donation protected
On December 18 2020, Melissa VanderBaaren was in a head on collision with a semi-truck on icy BC roads. She suffered two fractured femurs and head and facial injuries.
On the way to the hospital her ambulance also was involved in a collision where the ambulance was overturned on its side. Melissa was then flown to Vancouver hospital where she has had her facial injuries assessed and treated and multiple x-rays and CT scans to determine the extent of her injuries. She is awaiting surgery for her broken femurs and additional tests and treatment as required.
Once initial surgery is complete, we hope Melissa will be on the long road to recovery and will need physiotherapy and other secondary medical help and surgeries along the way. Melissa and her boyfriend Olivier are self-employed and could use a hand paying for the expensive ongoing medical care, time off work, and help taking care of their farm and businesses while Melissa recovers in hospital and later at home.
