Full Circle Martial Arts Grand Opening

Donation protected
My name is TJ Miller and i started training in the martial arts when i was in sixth grade.  It has given me everything and has always been my chief passion. I have always wanted to help spread the positive experience that i received from my martial arts training to anyone who needs it.  I have been teaching since about the year 2000.  I co-founded a school back in 2006 and in 2009 left to pursue some of my other passions.  I am also an actor and performer and my journey has taken me to explore many different careers and jobs, but they all have the focus of helping people to be the best version of themselves that they can.

I have worked at Renaissance Festivals around the country, played music, performed in improvisational comedy shows, teach OSHA safety classes and more.  My good friend John Williams and i came up with the idea of the New Jersey Renaissance Faire in 2010 and it has finally gotten to a point where i can start to focus back on teaching martial arts classes on a more regular basis.  He and I also created the Lords of Adventure that same year.  It is a comedy sword fighting show whose main purpose is to help everyone who sees it realize their own inner adventurer and live a life that is an example to others.

After many years of training in all kinds of wind and weather at Liberty Lake, to keep my teaching muscles sharp, while i have been busy managing and building the NJ RenaissanceI am also an actor Faire, we finally have our own dojo that will be opening in January 2020!  If you want to support our great school which teaches martial arts to children and adults, this is a great place to do it.  Your donation will help us pay our rent, get necessary equipment and make a nest egg that can help carry us through the first couple months while we promote our new school.  OUR GOAL IS TO CREATE A COMMUNITY THAT SUPPORTS THE "Fitness, defense and enlightenment of mind, body and spirit" for all of our students.

Gentrification of the Martial Arts

One thing that i am very serious about in my vision for what Full Circle MMA will be, is to make it available to anyone who needs it, regardless of whether or not they can afford it.  I have never turned anyone away because they cannot afford my classes.  My philosophy has always been i would rather you train and not pay than not train.   Most of the martial arts classes i have seen and places I have trained at can be out of reach for a lot of people on a fixed budget.   They are amazing academies and business-wise it is the smart thing to do.  But, often times, those might be the people who need what we have to offer the most.  We will never turn anyone away because of budget.  I have been calling this gradual increase in pricing the gentrification of the martial arts.  I am also not exactly sure yet how to make this happen as a business model, but I know it can be done if we work together.  So, if you have the ability to help us out, we would greatly appreciate it.  The support of those who can will help us take care of those who can't.
