Home Destroyed In Fire - 3 Generations, 8 People

On March 3, 2023 a severe storm with extremely high winds blew a tree over into a power line that ignited the home of Matt and Robin Brown and family. The resulting fire ravaged the home causing severe damage.  The electrical fire burned through the metal roof and ignited inside of the attic crawl space. The entire truss system is either burned through or severely damaged. Two of the bedroom ceilings were burned completely through as well as some walls. It is fairly obvious the house is a total loss. They have received one repair estimate for over $100,000. They had a master carpenter look at it and he said the house isn’t salvageable. Robin’s two children and three grandchildren lived there also as well as her brother, who is on disability. They are weighing their options but they are very limited and all are expensive. They had just paid this house off and did not have insurance at the time.
