- Hi, My name is Candace and I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Rocky Mountain Animal Rescue Based out of Calgary. Rory is the lady that takes these abandoned, starving, freezing, and hurt animals into her home. She will get a phone call from someone at all hours of the day saying there was a dog found in need of rescue. Rory usually takes a drive out to the First Nations especially, on those cold nights and will check on the stray dogs there. Velvet was brought to Rocky Mountain Animal Rescue after she was found scrounging for food, limping, and mange due to the freezing living conditions. She was taken to a vet for her spay where they found out her leg was broken and she has bebe pellets in her!!! Someone had kicked and shot her. We are trying to give this sweet girl another chance at a happy ever after, however, we were quoted $4500 USD for her surgery. We also have another dog Bailey who is needing amputation due to being hit by a car and was dragged behind the car, and that cost is quoted at $4000 as well. Rocky Mountain Animal Rescue, depends on volunteers, foster homes, adopters, and kind people donating to give these animals a second chance.
