Cheryl's Cancer Treatment Fund

This page was created and is dedicated to my mother Cheryl Cervasio. She was recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. She has dedicated most of her life to her husband, her children, taking care of the eldery, and to God. She has been married for 17 years and has managed to raise 3 loving children. She was there for her son (me) when I was diagnosed with non hodgkins lymphoma at age 19. 5 Years later and I am currently in remission. I'd like to do anything possible to return the favor and make sure she has everything she needs at this time.

Not only has this unfortunate time put an emotional burden on our family, it has also put a financial one on us as well. Every nickel, dime, and dollar helps and is appreciated greatly by our family. Every dollar earned will go directly to her medical care, medications, and any bills that she is currently unable to afford due to her loss of income.  The only other thing we would ask for is your prayers and best wishes. I will post her story in detail below for anyone who is interested in reading more about it. Thank you.

On September 22nd, my mother was sent to the emergency room at Hackensack University Medical Center, immediately following an MRI of her skull for jaw pain. After the MRIs revealed 5 tumors in her brain, she was admitted to the hospital for additional scans. These scans showed she had a large mass on her right lung, a mass on her kidney, and a mass on her liver.

On September 24th, she underwent surgery to removed 2 of the 5 tumors in her front lobe (only to later find out one of the tumors was the size of a golfball). After 6 hours, and thanks to an amazing Dr. Kangmin Lee, the surgery was a success. She woke in the ICU a few hours later with full bodily function and a succesful surgery.

The tumor was biopsied, which revealed stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer adencocarcinoma which has metastasized to the brain, kidney and liver. After speaking to her oncologist, the next step is to start her on chemotherapy and radiation cycles to control the cancer as best we can.

My mother is currently in good spirits, and very hopeful. I appreciate and thank you for taking the time to read her story. I wish you and your family the best. God bless you.
