Ft. Fisher Artificial Reef

ECARA, Eastern Carolina Artificial Reef Association, is raising funds to clean and sink the Ft. Fisher Tugboat to create an artificial reef in her native service waters. The Ft. Fisher Tugboat  has been working in NC waters for 60 years!
ECARA will be sinking the tug 4 miles off shore in 35 feet of water. The artificial reef will create a new marine habitat commercial and  recreational fisherman as well as recreational divers!
ECARA has seen positive economic benefits from other Artificial Reefs.  Divers and fisherman alike have also seen direct benefits of the artificial reef creation.
