Help Luis aka 'The Sunflower Man'

Donation protected

Juan 'Luis' Mendoza de la Cruz, proud to be known as the 'Sunflower Man',  has been in hospital since Sunday, May 2, in his beloved Mexico. He has COVID-19 and suffered a heart attack.  He and his family have asked for healing prayers.

As a migrant farm worker for over 25-years, Luis has spent almost his entire working life feeding individuals and families in Canada . He tested positive for COVID-19 just before he was due back to work in Canada in April. Luis had no symptoms at first but after a few days became very ill. Close family members with whom he lives have also tested positive, and while some have needed oxygen, they seem to be getting better.

Some folks in Canada that know Luis have asked me about ways that they can make a donation which prompted me to set up this gofundme page.

Before he got very ill I asked Luis about setting up a fundraiser and he said that he felt very shy/embarrassed to make such a request. He requested prayers and good wishes be offered to him and his family.

Now that he is without income, and may be incurring unexpected expenses, in addition to Luis' request of healing prayers and good wishes, I am asking for any financial contribution be made to his family at this difficult time.

On behalf of his family and circle of friends, thank you!
