No one would expect a fireman to run into a burning building without protective gear.
So we shouldn’t expect our healthcare workers to take care of patients without proper protection.
WHO ARE WE: Frontline Donations is a charity drive dedicated to fundraising for and sourcing the essential Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that ER physicians and nurses need to fight Covid-19 on the frontline. Our mission statement is simple. Help take care of our healthcare workers so that they can take care of us. To learn more about our story, click here.
WHY WE’RE HERE: Doctors and nurses across the nation are terrified to show up for work knowing they are not properly protected from the novel coronavirus due to the national shortage of supplies. Those on the frontline have no choice but to wrap bandanas over their mouths as masks, wear trash bags for medical gowns, and recycle what were once considered “one-use only” medical gear to treat all of their patients in just one shift. In these unsanitary and dangerous conditions, ER and ICU nurses risk contracting the fatal viral infection every time they clock in for work, which may result in further spreading the infection, and even death among our very own healthcare workers.
Healthcare workers can’t help us get better if they are unwell themselves. They are essential in fighting the war against Covid-19, and we must protect them to protect us!
WHERE ARE WE AND WHAT WE DO: At the comfort of our own homes! We are a team based in Orange County, CA, coordinating with manufacturers, hospitals, businesses and volunteers across the nation and around the world to source and deliver PPE to hospitals in Orange County, Los Angeles and New York.
HOW CAN YOU HELP: MAKE A CONTRIBUTION OF ANY AMOUNT TO THE PPE FOR HEALTHCARE WORKERS FUND. Every dollar will go directly toward purchasing and delivering N95 masks to US-based hospitals, and manufacturing N95 mask covers to help ER physicians and nurses protect the ones they already have. We are also dedicated to help source and deliver other PPE items such as medical goggles, gowns, gloves, and more.
WHAT WE HAVE DONE: We are proud to have sourced more than 1,000 donated N95 masks and homemade mask covers! As our demand grows to serve other hospitals outside of Orange County, CA, we are asking for your help to expand our reach and save lives!
