For our beautiful friend, Masayo Hobday.
2020 has been an unpredictable and difficult year for so many of us. For the Hobday family, it has been a nightmare.
And especially for Masayo, a dedicated wife to Hamish and a devoted mother to two beautiful children – 13-year-old Hannah and 10-year-old Jack.
COVID-19 initially hit the Hobdays hard, with long border closures keeping Hamish returning home from his work in Western Australia, separating this loving family for a prolonged period.
But the family was then dealt a most devastating blow – Masayo was diagnosed with Stage 4 bowel cancer.
On Wednesday September 30, Masayo was rushed into emergency surgery to remove a large tumour.
Hamish was restricted from travelling home from WA but the severity of his wife’s situation prompted him to quit his job so he could be by her side.
Now this beautiful, caring soul faces the biggest battle of her life, as Masayo commences chemotherapy this week.
Love, prayers and emotional support are of course all welcomed and appreciated, but what would really help the Hobdays is a bit of a financial boost to help with mounting medical expenses, day-to-day living costs and the price of modifications to the family home that would provide comfort and aid to Masayo, Hamish and their children in these most trying of times.
Any amount you could donate would make a world of difference, and help ease the burden of a family struck by the cruellest of hardships.
