In April of 2018, Indy was diagnosed with Pleuropulmonary Blastoma Type 3, a rare childhood lung cancer. Indy underwent surgery to remove the tumor, which required the entire lower lobe of her left lung to be removed as well, and spent a year receiving chemotherapy. In April of 2019, it was discovered that Indy's cancer had relapsed to her brain. Her parents were told early on that PPB, when relapsed, was more aggressive and even harder to fight. Since then, Indy has undergone radiation and several different treatments and chemotherapies in an attempt to finally eradicate the cancer. Unfortunately, they were mostly unsuccessful, and Indy continues to fight several brain tumors. Her current treatment requires her to be in Indianapolis for a week at a time for treatment every third week. Any money donated will go toward helping her parents cover the costs of travel, lodging, and other necessities that arise as Indy continues her fight against PPB.
