Percussion in memory of Brian!

Donation protected
SHHHH! This is a complete surprise for his family! If you know them, do not tell them or share it with them! Keep it a secret!

Brian Fusco was a fighter and a hero to us all. Throughout his life he encountered multiple medical issues which resulted in two kidney transplants and three cancers, yet through it all he remained the most positive and kind-hearted individual that any of us have ever met.  Physically, he bore the scars of his illness, but they never showed in his attitude and spirit. He never let anything he experienced affect how he lived his life to the fullest.  Brian also worked at his “second home,” Sunrise Day Camp, which is a camp for children with cancer and their siblings. Brian was studying to become a nurse in order to help other people who went through what he did, and we all know that he was going to be a dang good one. Sadly, Brian was diagnosed with cancer for the third time halfway through college and unfortunately passed away this August at the age of 22.  He was truly the nicest and most positive man that any of us knew.  He was a remarkable human being who set a great example for all those who knew him.

Throughout his life, Brian was involved in many activities, but he particularly enjoyed music. He played percussion throughout high school and college. As a testament to Brian’s love for band, we, his felllow musical alumni, would like to give the gift of one or multiple percussion instruments to Brian’s high school, Commack High School. We are setting the goal at $5,000 but in reality we will take however much money we can raise.  No contribution is too small. If we raise more than the goal, great - more instruments! If we raise less, that's totally fine too! Any instruments purchased will have an engraved plaque attached saying that it is in memory of Brian. Any money left over and/or not used to purchase instruments will be donated to Brian’s “second home,” Sunrise Day Camp Long Island, in his name, so either way your donations will be going to a charitable cause. You can read more about Sunrise here: http://sunrisedaycamp-longisland.org/

We all thank you for your support.

PS: That is a band locker in the second photo.
