Friend/Co-worker's Sick Child

A peer of mine at Front Range Community College is in need of great financial support to help with medical expenses for their child. Out of respect for their privacy, I want to keep identifying information vague and am hoping that won't be a detriment to getting their family support. 

Their child has recently been diagnosed with a serious medical issue and will need inpatient medical treatment at a specialized facility for several weeks, which is located in Denver. In addition to the medical costs associated with the treatment, the parents will be taking turns staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Denver to be near to their child. Once their child is released from inpatient treatment, there will be months of outpatient treatment. 

This colleague is very well liked and appreciated at FRCC. This person has been a great contributor to our community, both locally and nationally. They are always willing to go above and beyond at work, while also showing compassion, patience, and empathy for others.  This colleague is not in the State Classified system, therefore is not eligible to receive donated hours in the leave bank for situations such as these, which was unexpected. This person has to keep coming to work in order to bank leave time to tend to their child, whether or not they have tears in their eyes and are having difficulty functioning themselves.

$10,000 is reaching for the stars and yet will barely scratch the surface of their total expenses when this is done, but I know any amount would be appreciated, if even as a gesture of support. This person could really use a good night's sleep so that they can have their wits about them to make some very important decisions regarding their child's care. I feel like any financial support we can provide may also help with some anxiety relief, which would do wonders towards a good night's rest (as anyone could surely understand).  

The treatment started the week of August 14, so immediate and long-term financial assistance is needed. 

I know this isn't very specific, so I'm hoping you know me well enough (or trust my friends who have shared this well enough) to know that I wouldn't make this plea lightly. Please consider donating anything you can, today.

How the funds will be spent (be specific as possible) - That will be completely up to the recipient. I won't dictate what they have to use it for. The recipient will get 100% of what is donated and I will pay the fees.
Your withdrawal plan to get the funds from the campaign to the ultimate beneficiary/ies - I told them I can input their account info. directly for the withdrawl, or I can withdraw it and give them a check. They want time to think about it, but aren't feeling like they need it immediately.
