Freya's Leukemia Journey

I was advised by a friend to set up a GoFundMe for Freya, as a few people have said they would like to help her save. She has a money pot that she is saving for the next 3 years of treatment, at the end she wants to buy something special for herself. Currently she says that will be a mobile phone and Nintendo Switch. But 3 years from now she's likely to change her mind.

Freya is 6 years old.

On August 12th she was diagnosed with leukemia, after her bone marrow it was discovered that she has MPAL (Mixed-phenotype Acute Leukemia) which means that she has 2 different types of Leukemia. ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) & AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia).

As you can imagine one was bad enough but two was a total blow. It is also mind blowing because it is really rare to have this type. They estimate that they see 1 person every 2/3 years with this type.

She's doing brilliantly with everything going on right now, she's on 4 types of chemotherapy, plus steroids, plus antifungal medication, antibiotics, pain medication, antisickness medication, and more as and when needed. She takes her medication well because I bribed her, myself & Mum, Freya's Nan agreed to pay her for every time she takes her medication, every time she has chemotherapy, every time she has surgery, bone marrow, lumbar punctures etc. That's when Freya got the idea to save her money to buy something awesome at the end of her 3 years treatment.
