Help Frejya Heal: A Second Chance for a Resilient Heart

Hi friends,

I’m reaching out with vulnerability and hope. My dog Frejya — just 15 months old — has been diagnosed with a serious heart condition, and her care is quickly becoming more than I can manage alone.

Frejya may still be a puppy, but her short life has already been full of hardship. She was rescued from a background of severe abuse and neglect, arriving terrified, underweight, and shut down. But she fought — hard — to survive. Slowly, she learned to trust, to play, and to feel safe. She’s smart, loving, funny, and incredibly brave.

But now her heart is quite literally failing her.

Her Diagnosis & Upcoming Expenses

Frejya has been diagnosed with an enlarged heart, and the next steps in her care are critical. We’re preparing for a cardiac ultrasound this Thursday (cost: $1,000), which will determine whether she’ll need lifelong medications — or even heart surgery, which could cost $2,000 to $5,000.

To date, I’ve already taken on $3,000 in veterinary debt from multiple ER visits, specialist consults, diagnostic testing, and medications. These expenses are stacking up faster than I can pay them off, and I’m now turning to my community for help.

If she begins medication, she’ll also need monthly prescription food ($100/month) and ongoing cardiology follow-ups to manage her condition.

Why I’m Asking for Help

This is incredibly difficult to ask. I’m used to being the one that helps — not the one that needs it. But Frejya’s life matters, and I refuse to let money be the reason she doesn’t get the care she needs.

Every donation — no matter how small — will go directly toward:

• Veterinary debt already accrued ($3,000+)

• This week’s cardiac testing ($1,000)

• Potential heart surgery ($2–5k)

• Ongoing prescriptions and cardiac support
