#FreeOllie:Double Lung Transplant

Donation protected
Greetings to all those that love the Lord and devoted to a higher power. It is a blessing to know the precious air is placed in our lungs, breath by breath, is nothing short of grace and miraculous. Yet we take it for granted because we don’t have to do anything extra but breathe and be thankful.

 I am sure my dear friend and soror, Ollie Freeman, felt the same way until countless ER visits and hospitalizations resulted in the discovery of being diagnosed with Lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAMS) in 2003. As doctors gave her a 10-year life expectancy, she declared JESUS was the only one who could determine her fate, so she started researching and fighting with faith.

 Ollie, like most of us was just living her life, working, and taking care of her family; so, she couldn’t just give up. Even after her diagnosis, she continued to parent her two daughters, affectionately known as Ebb (19) and Shy (18), work for the state of Alabama, serve with Delta Sigma Theta, Incorporated, Dothan Chapter, attend school at Troy University Dothan (Master’s Degree, 2007), and wholeheartedly serve GOD while singing in the choir at Northview Christian Church (Pastor Hart Ramsey), where giving up is not an option.

 Ollie is now 44, birthday September 19, and living with a stronger will to live each day. Ollie’s granddaughter (T, two) keeps Ollie on her toes and her knees praying for new lungs, just to keep up with baby T.

 After a few years of disappointments and set-backs, GOD has answered Ollie’s prayer to be placed on the lung transplant list for lungs. Glorrrrrryyyy!!! You don’t understand. Ollie had to stop working February 2015 with nothing to depend on but GOD. She was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension and placed on 24-hour oxygen, in which she continues today.

 It is such a blessing for Ollie to get to this point. There is hope that comes with faith in believing things that are not seen, but when GOD presents the visual manifestation of your prayers, there is a shifting in the atmosphere.

 The transplant team social workers advised Ollie to seek funding/donations to assist with expenses for line items that are NOT COVERED by insurance. The expenses include, but are not limited to food, transportation, medical deductibles, co-pays AND mandatory 90 to 120-day post-surgery housing within 15 minutes of UAB in Birmingham, Alabama.  Ollie currently resides approximately 3.5 hours away from UAB, and thus, will have to temporary relocate to ensure continuity of care by her UAB transplant team.

 Ollie is a great steward of money and I feel strongly that she will show the same diligence with your donations.

 I am asking that you pray,  seek guidance, and let God move  on your heart  the amount to donate to Ollie. While praying, ask God to bless donor and the family of the future organ donor. In addition, say a prayer for Ollie, as this is a wonderful thing but not without sacrifice.

Her breathing has literally been sacrificed! And now, a blessing to start the healing on earth;

LISTED FOR DOUBLE LUNG TRANSPLANT AUGUST 31, 2018.

Please DONATE TODAY. No amount is too small.

 OLLIE IS NEXT IN LINE FOR A MIRACLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Just GRATEFUL,
Dr. Emma Peden
