Hello Friends,
As many of you know my brother Hans has been held at the RI Department of Corrections for some time now. He has been there since Dec. 5th and will be released in about a month provided his bail is paid. As a family, we have been having some trouble coming up with the amount needed for his bail, his ever increasing legal bills, and all the other miscellaneous things you find having to take care of when someone goes away. Hans has asked me to start this Go Fund Me with the hope that some of his close friends and family would donate whatever they could to his cause.
I've had so many close freinds of Hans' reach out and ask what they can do to help. Some have given me cash, some have paid for cat food and litter for his cat "Whitey", some have sent him books and put money on his commissary account so he can buy things like toothpaste and contact solution. But sometimes I don't know how to direct them in the other ways they want to offer help.
So, I would ask if you are reading this or happen to know Hans or myself and our family, if you have the means of donating any amount (even as small as $1) that would help him the most. If 10 people donated $100 we would be halfway to what we need. We are not begging for money and will find a way to come up with this sum eventually but we are asking if you have been looking for a way to help Hans now or on the rocky road he is looking at in his near future of recovery, please give whatever you can. Our family will be eternally grateful and will always remember those that offered their help.
Hans plans to turn his life around upon being released and to change his ways that led him to this point. He's expressed that he's done living the life he was living and wants to get his life and career together. He intends on going back to school and finishing his degree and staying sober. I know it will be a struggle but if he has the love and support of his friends and family he will be so much better off.
