Fredrika Groff Scholarship Fund

At Neighborhood Art Studio, we strongly believe in equitable opportunities for all aspiring artists. Our goal is to provide a creative space for students to explore and thrive, no matter the circumstances. Not too long ago, when Covid was running rampant through our world, the future of our studio was in question. We quickly restructured our operations in order to remain open and provide art classes to our students in a remote setting. This transition allowed our students to have a creative outlet from their homes; our materials were all packed into paper bags and delivered to porches, then we all met on Zoom and did our projects together! This effort was made possible by our dedicated and passionate staff, as well as a generous donation from a community member, Fredrika Groff.

Mrs. Groff’s contribution reminded Adriana, the founder of Neighborhood Art Studio, that part of her original mission was to create a scholarship fund to support all artists. Adriana herself grew up on scholarships and wanted to create the same opportunities for others, but the funds were limited.

The scholarship fund received additional finances when the catalytic converters were stolen from the studio bus in the summer of 2022, and the community rallied around the studio, donating to have them replaced. The generosity of our community ended up collecting more money than was needed to fix the bus, and the extra funds were added to the scholarship fund.

As a team, we see an opportunity to partner with our wonderful community to make our scholarship fund sustainable long-term to support artists for years to come! 100% of the donations will go directly to aspiring artists at Neighborhood Art Studio.
