Celebration of Life Fund for Alfredo(Fred)Vasquez

Donation protected
Dear Family and Friends:

It is with great sadness to share the unexpected passing of Alfredo (Fred) Vasquez on August 24, 2022. Fred was a father of 3, grandfather of 4, brother, uncle, and son. He will be deeply missed by everyone.

Fred was a kind man who was a pivotal figure in the AYSO soccer community, having served as a volunteer for over 20 years. Whether managing the field equipment, coaching one team, some seasons, he coached multiple teams simultaneously, or hanging out with players, his presence made a difference.

He was known to be a tough coach. Sometimes players would run lap after lap for not listening during practice. But he also had a caring side, ensuring players had rides to and from practices or games. Every practice and game day, he would have his ice chest filled with water and Gatorade and of course, his never-ending supply of chewing gum for the players. Fred made an impact on many people, young and old. We are all the better for having known him!!

Fred’s favorite place was the ocean, and he loved surfing and boating as a young man. His family plans to have him cremated and his ashes released at sea in a private service.

There will be a celebration of his life at the beach for all his family and friends. Details about this event are forthcoming. Any contribution made will be delivered to his family.

RIP Fred!
