One more piece of letting go and saying goodby...

This past month has been a difficult one as my father (Michael Kelly) was diagnosed with tonsil cancer that we also found out has spread to his thyroid. To say it has been a shock is an understatement since my Dad has never really been sick a day in his life!
My brothers and sisters (there are 9 of us kids) have watched him struggling to swallow and breath after one tonsil was removed. And the exhaustion that has taken the Dad we love from a hardworking guy that regularly put in 60+ hour work weeks to one that finds it difficult to even do his everyday tasks like walking our dogs or participating in family activates has been heart wrenching. For example, every year my parents celebrate their Wedding Anniversary by taking in the natural beauty and changing Fall colors of Spearfish Canyon and we have many happy family memories of walking the trails, listening to the water rush down the canyon and watching the leaves blown from the trees gently float to the ground but this year was the first time he just couldn’t do it! My mom drove him through the Canyon instead but it was so hard for me and my siblings to see the dramatic change in our Dad because of this insidious disease called cancer!
My parents just celebrated their 31st Wedding Anniversary and should be looking forward to their best years together including the hope of many Grandchildren but instead their are facing hospitals, doctors and financial strain to fight this ugly disease called squamous cell carcinoma.
The local doctors want to do 7 weeks of chemo and radiation treatments, both of which come with potential short and long term health complications that we fear can be as bad as the disease itself and result in other side affects and future life threatening problems. My parents have been looking into alternative treatment options, CHIPSA (of Food Matters) appears very promising with great results. However the upfront costs plus travel to this clinic are very high (compared to our families income) and are not covered by insurance. We would like our Dad to start treatment ASAP to give him the best opportunity of fighting this disease successfully so he can get back to the life he enjoys and deserves. Mom and Dad have cleaned out their savings, are working on a second mortgage, and my siblings and I are doing what we can but we could still really use your help.
So, we are asking for your heartfelt donations to help us cover medical and travel expenses, so that my Dad can receive quick and decisive care.
Thank you for your prayers, well wishes and donations;
