Franks car was stolen and totaled
My name is Hannah and I’m currently living overseas in Japan working as an english teacher. While currently living away from family and friends I was devastated to learn that my brother, Frank, had his car stolen and totaled.
On Friday, April 2nd, while delivering food for Uber Eats, Frank's car was stolen right in front of him. He stepped out of the car for less than a minute to drop off food, turned around, and the car was gone.
Frank filed a report with Chicago police and was left with little hope.
The next day the Police called and informed him his car had been found, but it had been totaled and had been towed to an impound lot. This impound lot is not only charging Frank the cost of the tow but storage fees and other administration fees, which go up every single day. So, not only was his car stolen, but he also has to PAY to have it disposed of, plus pay towing and storage fees.
The person who stole the car and wrecked it is a minor so the police are not giving their information so Frank can pursue restitution.
And unfortunately, Frank's insurance was only a liability policy as the car had only recently come into his possession and he had not made enough to afford comprehensive coverage.
My brother Frank is a funny, talented and caring person. Over the last year, while we were all locked down due to Covid-19, Frank has gathered a large following on TikTok by making funny videos that have brought joy to many all over. He works very hard to bring happiness to those around him even as he struggles with his own obstacles. So we'd like to raise some money to cover the fees charged by the impound lot (that he didn't have a choice about) and to maybe have some seed money for a new car.
We know times are tough, and we understand everyone is dealing with their own struggles. Please consider donating only if you are in a comfortable enough situation. And if not please send to someone who might be able to help. Any support is appreciated. Love and Thanks
