Francesca Cedrone is one of the most sweetest people anyone could ever meet. Kind, respectful, caring and so much more. She was always willing to help people and never asked for anything in return. She was a recent graduate of Regis College and was working towards her Master's of Social Work.
Just before Thanksgiving, Francesca was diagnosed with pneumonia. On Wednesday, December 4th, Francesca was admitted to Newton Wellesley Hospital with a critically low platelet count. The doctors and nurses pushed steroids into her body in hopes of increasing her platelet count. 5 days later, Francesca was discharged from the hospital and was excited to be finally going home with her family.
What unfolded next, was a nightmare that no parent should ever have to experience. Only a few hours after having returned home, Francesca was rushed back to the hospital. Her parents immediately called 911 and were told to start CPR. Francesca was emergently transported back to Newton Wellesley Hospital where she was placed on a ventilator. A CT Scan revealed massive bleeding in Francesca's brain. From NWH, she was transported to Brigham and Women's Hospital where she underwent emergency surgery to relieve pressure in her brain.
Francesca's family prayed for a Christmas miracle; that their beautiful Christmas baby would open her bright blue-eyes again and return home.
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts to announce that Francesca passed away Friday night.
The past week has been extremely difficult and filled with overwhelming sorrow and grief for Francesca's parents, her siblings and extended family.
The Cedrone Family never ask for anything. Let's please help them in a way to ease their pain and help them get through this tragic life event of losing their daughter.
