Dear Family and Friends,

I am writing to you about my wife Frances to let you know about her current health challenge, and how you can help. Many people have said to us, “If there is anything that I can do, just let me know”. Well there is something that you can do to help.

This is not an easy letter for me to write, however there is much excitement in my spirit for what God is doing and wants to do in our lives through you and others whom He has blessed to be a blessing to us.

Some of you may know that Frances has been diagnosed and suffering with acute liver failure (cirrhosis of the liver) and in fact a liver transplant is the only option that she has since her liver no longer functions adequately. Cirrhosis of the liver often has no signs or symptoms until liver damage is extensive and when signs do appear it’s too late to reverse the damage.

When talking to her doctor about treatment for this disease, we are told that due to the extensive damage to her liver, that any treatment would cause other complications and that’s why it’s so important to have her on a transplant list ready to go if her condition gets worse. In fact, while we were talking to her doctor, the doctor made this comment that caused a mighty widening of our eyes, she said, “I have seen miracles in cases like this.” And this is what we‘re believing and praying for, 'a miracle', and we are asking you to touch and stand in agreement with us for God to do what only He can do, repair the damage in this one or replace it with a brand new liver.

What gets us is that Frances is not a drinker, not even socially and this is what has us puzzled, why is this disease attacking her body that usually occurs in people with a long period of alcohol abuse. One thing we do know for sure is that God is going to get the glory when she comes through this and have the testimony of just how faithful our God is concerning His Healing Promises.

We all know that medical bills are costly. Even with health insurance, we are facing costly out of pocket expenses that are piling up. Since being diagnosed with this disease, the doctors have told Frances that she could no longer work and as for me; I’m collecting disability and can no longer work. Most of our utilities bills and other bills that we pay monthly are a month or so behind. We were approved for food stamps and that has covered and provided for our daily food sustenance and to get the food for Frances special diet.

According to ’Transplant Living. A service of the United Network for Organ Sharing’ we are looking at the cost of this transplant, pre and post-op care to be somewhere in the neighborhood of around $577,100.

By launching a medical fundraiser online, we can access the money we need to cover treatments without going bankrupt. Online fundraisers help pay medical fees through the generosity of friends, relatives, and those who relate to our struggle. No one should face exorbitant medical bills alone, especially not a family that’s already grappling with the emotional toll of a life-threatening illness. This online fundraiser will allow us to pay medical bills, to keep our heads above water and it will allow us to keep you, our loved ones, relatives, friends, and community up-to-date on Frances progress, and provide you with an easy and effective way to help us not only with your prayers and words of encouragement but with monetary help that is so desperately needed.

If you can’t donate monetarily you can still support us by posting this letter to your many friends on facebook and other social media contacts.  Help us to get this letter to as many people as you can. Through an online fundraiser you will be helping us to build a community of support that reaches all sides of the globe. If you can help, please do. If you know anyone who might help, please forward this on to them. Forwarding this letter to your family, friends, work, school, church congregation, or any other communities you belong to would be most gratefully appreciated.

The impact that a transplant has on a patient’s quality of life is immense. Sharing in this fundraising campaign for Frances can and will help ease the financial stress that this illness has brought to her and her family.

Give the gift of life by sharing the 'gift of giving' that God has blessed you with, for when you give, it's your gift back to God.

Thank you for taking the time to read my wife’s story. Help us by sharing it with everyone you know.
