Fr. Mathews Fundraiser and support for Cork Simon

Women's and Men's senior National League teams at Fr. Mathews are hoping to raise funds for our upcoming season. Women's team will compete in Superleague, and Men's team in National Division 1 league. The pandemic has been difficult for all of us, for some people more than others. We are delighted that basketball is back and our season is around the corner, but homeless people have much bigger worries, such as where are they going to sleep, eat, change their clothes, etc.  We decided that 50% of the funds we raise will go towards Cork Simon Community, organisation supporting homeless people in Cork. Therefore, we are hoping that the community will get behind us and show support for our National League teams, but also for people experiencing homelessness in Cork. We are hoping to raise the total of 7000 euros, with 3500 going towards Cork Simon Community, and Women's and Men's teams sharing other 3500 to kick start the season. The fundraiser will run from 12th to 26th of August, 2020. Thank you everyone!
