Save my mom

So I go for my chemo treatment this morning- first of 2021... prepared to be there for the day but - - since it’s a new year insurance must be verified & the drugs authorized, etc. so we wait... & wait while slowly getting the hydration... after a few hours the nurse tells me that I have a very high deductible! Which must be met before my insurance takes over! Or I could get treatment if I pay several hundred dollars immediately! Neither of which I have nor can I get. So the nurse is pursuing other options but none allow chemo today. I must try to obtain emergency Medicaid to cover the costs or win Lotto! Both of these options do not seem feasible... so if I were dirt poor everything would be covered- no deductible no copays. But because I have Medicare which I paid into my entire working life I must pay an exorbitant amount to obtain my chemo! There is something terribly wrong with our government when the working people can’t get treatment needed because of this glitch very sad & depressed over this lack of respect from our insurance companies. Something needs to be done to protect the working class. 

Mom survived cancer 21 years ago while pregnant with me. Insurance regulations prevented her getting her treatment Wednesday. Social Security Disability doesn’t cover much.
