My name is Jennifer Berkemeier. Just over four years ago I adopted my beautiful daughter Helen-Widma from Foyer de Sion orphanage in Haiti. High unemployment, natural disasters, disease and volatile political situations are realities Haitians face daily. I will never forget that hot day in 2011 when I first saw my daughter at the orphanage; not a day goes by that I don't think about the amazing children at Foyer and wonder how I can help.
I have the answer, and you can join us on this journey! Helen-Widma and I wrote a children's book together, and this summer we are going to be selling this book and sending the funds to Foyer (after publishing costs). The money raised will go towards education, medical needs, egg-laying chickens and to replace the solar-powered systems at the orphanage. All of these are urgent needs for Foyer. These incredible children will greatly benefit from your donation of any size. I am working directly with the Foyer board of directors on this project.
