Hello Everyone,
Thank you for checking out our page! We are the operators of Fork Hospitality which owns and operates two restaurant concepts; Elm City Social in New Haven CT and two locations of Olives and Oil in New Haven and Seymour CT.
To be very honest with everyone, this current pandemic has gutted our small businesses to their core leaving us with a complete loss of revenue and bills piling up. During this trying time we made the hardest decision we have ever made in our small business history, the decision to close our doors temporarily, even for takeout/pickup service in order to best keep our employees, their families, and our communities safe during this pandemic. In the almost five years we've been operating restaurants, we've always tried to build new, and add, and improve our offerings to our guests and community. It feels so unnatural to have had to take a step in the opposite direction to close it all down for the time being, to try and keep everyone safe.
As a result of that decision and state mandates for bars & restaurants, we were forced to lay off all of our incredible & talented staff temporarily as we weather this storm as a community and a nation. Just to put somewhat of a face to this recent disaster, we laid off; managers, servers, bartenders, barbacks, chefs, sous chefs, cooks, dishwashers, porters, prep cooks, cleaners etc.
That being said we are looking for your support in helping us supply funds for our laid off staff during this time of need. Do you have a favorite bartender at Elm City Social that makes your day by making you a perfect cocktail when you usually come in for happy hour, your birthday, a business lunch, or at last call? They need your help the most right now. Do you have a favorite server at Olives and Oil in New Haven or Seymour that brings your meal to the next level with their hospitality and suggested wine pairings? They really need your help right now as well.
We are asking for your donations now to help all of our laid off staff. 100% of the proceeds from this drive goes directly to our staff during this time of need. Many of these employees live off your generous tips, they live off of your regular patronage, they live off of your support of small businesses like ours. Think of it as a tip, paying it forward to support our crew, who I promise would much rather be; behind the bar serving you, cooking up a delicious meal for you, listening to you talk about your day or celebrating with you on your birthday!
