As many of you may know, my mother’s colon cancer relapsed earlier last year, now with an even worse diagnosis and even more brutal chemotherapy treatments. My mother is unable to work or do many of the things that she enjoyed before which includes spending time with my younger sister, myself, and the rest of our family. It is almost torture to see her unable to do these things despite her burning desire to do so.

My mother is the strongest woman I know. I have never seen anyone look a 6 month life sentence dead in the face and challenge it, all for her children. She has tirelessly struggled through her chemotherapy sessions just so she can extend what the doctors said was inevitable. Her cancer is terminal, and the chemotherapy will only shrink her tumors rather than ridding the cancer entirely. She still chooses to go through these sessions knowing this information, only to be able to spend more time with her family.

Through all of this, we have been so grateful to have a group of friends and family that will do whatever it takes to get us by, all while trying to keep smiles on our faces. Unfortunately, my mother has begun to run out of funds because she cannot work, which means she will be unable to pay her rent or utilities in the upcoming months. We have been able to make it through up until recently, times have gotten hard for her and my 14 year old sister. Soon, they will have no income whatsoever, and with the length of the process that comes with disability and social security, no options will be available for many months.

It took a long time for us to make a gofundme because it didn’t feel right at the time to be asking from our family and friends. But now, we have come to a time where we have nothing left to do and anything will help.

Thank you to anyone and everyone who has been with us during this time. If you so happen to donate, we will be sure to show our gratitude and will be thankful in ways you cannot imagine.

Thank you.
