Sheila's Trio Legacy Fund

Donation protected
On Tuesday August 21, 2018 this beautiful family’s world was turned upside down.  My sister-in-law Sheila Avin, suddenly passed away after an emergency surgery, leaving behind her three beautiful children, Cedrick (16), Nayah (15), and Keila (9) - “My Trio” as she often referred to them.

If you ever had the pleasure of knowing Sheila Avin, you were lucky enough to know someone whose energy and love bought smiles and laughter to everyone around her. If you happen to know her story, well then you found yourself amazed by her ability to brighten a room despite the experiences and complicated health issues she’s had to endure and persevere through. Words cannot express the absolute devastation and sorrow we feel from the loss of someone so dear to our family, so suddenly.

For as long as I’ve known her, Sheila has always loved children.  She struggled to have her own and was blessed with THREE, each of them a miracle and proof of God’s grace.  Her faith in God was strong till the end.  Sheila was a devoted single mom, who’s “Trio” lacked of nothing, ever. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and Yes! Sheila was “That crazy friend”. Her laughter was infectious and her thousand-watt smile turned any argument on it’s head.  She was always the life of the party. She was tough but she loved hard.

Nothing can bring back this vibrant outgoing woman. Sheila left us too soon, at 49 years young. She will never have the chance to see her children graduate, get married or lead the lives she meant for them to live.

The magnitude of this untimely tragedy is extremely difficult for her only sibling, (Gary Avin) and her elderly parents, (Ganine and Yvon Avin) to deal with. The children themselves are still trying to comprehend what this means for them and how they will be able move forward without their mother, and possibly apart from the youngest sibling of the Trio.  There are several complicated layers left to unravel, regarding issues in her personal affairs, which she shared openly on Facebook.

If you loved and laughed with Sheila in life, then please show your love now and do not let her memory die with her death.  Her children meant everything in the world to her and they are her Legacy.

My name is Jennifer Avin, Gary’s wife, Sheila was our sister. On behalf of the Avin children, I have created this account to help the kids now and in the future, as well as, help with the immediate funds needed for Sheila’s funeral.  In lieu of flowers or gifts, please consider donating to this fund for Sheila’s children - in any amount.  My husband Gary and I including Sheila’s closest relatives and friends, are dedicated to ensuring the well being of the children and all the funds collected here will directly benefit them and their education. Thank you and may God bless you for your kindness and generosity in our time of need.

~ Rest in peace Sis, we got you.
