Our very sweet friend, incredible musician and supporter of many efforts needs our help. David Shelley was diagnosed (for the second time in 12 months) with Cancer. It has spread slightly from the original site, and now he needs to face the battle; treatment for 6 months and an ongoing lifestyle change to keep the cancer at bay and him here with us for many more years of great music and friendship from the man who's soul truly shines.
David started his career in the late 80's , he had many memorable appearances and have created an array of great tunes, and most recently 2 albums with his band Bluestone. In 2014 he finally had the opportunity to sign with a record label, and change his continued struggle as a musician to a more financial stable future. He received his Cancer diagnosis ONE HOUR after receiving the record label offer, after being in the business for almost 30 years. Timing is everything, and timing was not on David's side. David had surgery, removed the cancer and went on a strict regime. The record deal never happened, as the word spread that David was sick. It was devastating to him and to the band who thought their break was finally happening.
We worked hard after David's recovery to get David Shelley and Bluestone as much exposure as possible in the US, Canada and Europe. 2015 was a promising year, with many festivals lined up, including an Europe debut in May. Now a year after the initial diagnosis the cancer is back, and David has no choice but to battle it out with the right treatment. All we worked for will be cancelled, hopefully postponed, until David makes a strong return. Timing again is not on David's side.
All the donations will be used for David's medical expenses, to keep his insurance active, basic life expenses covered as he will not be working for at least 6 months. For questions and private donations please contact us.
