FOR THE LOVE OF LISSA
Our beloved daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend, Lissa, needs our prayers and our help.
Lissa is a beautiful 24-year-old young woman and an avid animal lover. With 4 dogs, 5 birds, 2 cats and 6 bunnies, she’s always in good company. She currently lives with her mother in Folsom, California.
Autoimmune Diseases Leading to Stage 5 Kidney Failure
Since the age of 12, Lissa has suffered from a debilitating illness that was diagnosed as two separate autoimmune diseases, which cause her own body to attack itself, and Lyme disease. At 24, she has been suffering from the effects of the disease for most of her life. Despite this, she has a positive attitude and does her best to live a “normal” life, to the extent that it’s been possible.
Lissa is now in STAGE 5 KIDNEY FAILURE!
Side effects from early misdiagnosis and medications have affected kidneys. At this advanced stage, her kidneys are no longer able to function on their own as toxins build up in her body and water builds in her blood.
Lissa is receiving dialysis in four-hour sessions, three times a week. We’re all hopeful that treatment will be successful but, if not, Lissa will require kidney transplant surgery.
Help with Medical Treatment
Because of the complexity and severity of her current medical condition, which includes a new, unidentifiable infection-type in her right hand and left thumb, her team of medical specialists have recommended that Lissa seek treatment at The Mayo Clinic in Arizona.
With vast outstanding medical bills and impending treatment and procedures, we hope to help Lissa receive the care that she now needs to save her life. Her illness has been relentless and we want to do everything we can to for her. That’s why we’re asking for your help...for the love of Lissa.
