For the Love of Kirsten

http://www.reformer.com/stories/west-townshend-teen-suffers-severe-head-injuries-in-atv-crash,539070 On Saturday May 5th, Kirsten Munson suffered a critical brain injury and fractured pelvis when she lost control of her ATV and struck a tree. She was air lifted from her hometown of Townsend, VT to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire in critical condition. There she underwent emergency life-saving surgery to relieve pressure on her brain and spent several days in a medically induced coma. As of today, she remains in the PICU but has been taken off the ventilator and is finally making some measurable progress.  Unfortunately, at this time, doctors are not able to say what Kirsten’s prognosis is. Thankfully, it is not in Kirsten’s nature to simply give up. We know she is fighting. And we are fighting right next to her. As can be imagined, her family has not left her bedside. They are there every minute of every day, away from their homes and jobs. If you can find it in your heart to help this family out with a donation to see them through what will likely be a long recovery and mounting medical bills, they would be forever grateful. Kirsten, a 16 year old freshman at Leland and Gray High School, is an amazing girl, fiercely determined, strong, and compassionate, a huge animal lover and protector, she enjoys playing all types of sports, loves to sing, and is very active in the drama club at school.
