For the Love of Kid Lucky-King Luck & Family

Terry Lewis, aka Kid Lucky , aka King Luck, was a pioneer in the art of the voice as an instrument.  Across the city, the country and the world, Kid was well known for both his unique talent as a beatrhymer, beatboxer, rapper and poet,  and for his prolific work as an organizer, mentor, and conductor. He dedicated his life to bringing people together in musical collaborations that pushed the boundaries of voice-based music, far beyond the traditional notions of  a "vocalist".   He helped kickstart and elevate countless musicians, while also performing and recording with internationally known DJs, rappers and artists of many stripes over decades.  As the founder and creative director of Beatbox Entertainment, he curated hundreds of performances, from solo shows to large ensembles of vocal artists, in venues as varied as concert halls and theaters to squats and community gardens.  Kid was a nonstop catalyst of participatory creativity, musical innovation and artistic energy.

Kid's commitment to community and creative expression extended into his personal life, through his family and friends. He was a dedicated and loving father to his son Psyence, now 16.  Every day of his son's life, Kid worked to provide his son love, guidance, and  every academic, athletic, and artistic opportunity he could find.

Now his son needs the help of all those  who knew and loved Kid. We are asking the countless people who have been touched by Kid's life and work to help lay him to rest, and to support his son going forward through this difficult time.
