For Sammi and Kim

Donation protected
Hey there, I’m Dana and I am submitting this up on behalf of Kim Potter and her daughter Samantha who is currently in the hospital being treated for an unknown infection.  Over the past week their lives have been rocked to the core and they need your help.

Sammi is 29 and is in a wheelchair. She has Spina Bifida. This diagnosis is not how Sammi defines her life although many people make that judgement when they see her. Sammi is an artist and attends art classes at Imagine That three days a week, she loves to go see WWE wrestling when they come to KC, she has friends and family who she loves dearly and they love her.  Sammi enjoys swimming, spending time outside watching the sun set, and taking walks with her mom and I, although she sometimes leaves us behind, ya know the whole wheelchair thing, lol, she loves to go out to eat, and spends time with her dog Cena, (named after John Cena the WWE wrestler of course).

Sammi’s mom is her caregiver and when she is at home her mom is paid through a Medicaid program called CDS that allows all of her needed care to be provided by someone she knows and trusts but when Sammi is in the hospital, mom does not get paid…the good thing is that when needed mom has found a way to make money on the side to help them pay the bills.  Mom goes around town and collects items that are free and takes them home to repair and refurbish the items and then posts them for sale allowing her to make some extra money.

Here is the tragic part.  Sammi was admitted to the hospital on December 16th and Kim has been there around the clock. While Kim was away from her home, one of her neighbors though it would be funny to post an add on Craig’s list stating that everything in the yard at Kim and Sammi’s home was being offered up FOR FREE and that there were some really good items.  According to the neighbors, people came all day and hauled off everything that was in the yard.  Most of it was items were things that Kim was trying to sell …other things were personal….such as Kim’s work equipment, back yard furniture, the barbeque grill…and worst of all…they took Sammi’s ramp from the front porch.  Sammi can not enter or exit the home without this ramp.

Please help this family raise the money to make it through this hardship.  They are strong people who would never ask on their own for a handout but it is truly needed.

I want to tell you that you all are a blessing and from the bottom of our hearts we thank you all.
