For Polly and Oscar's family

Julia’s family is so dear to so many.

She has an incredible story that has touched many lives.   She is an adoptive mother, a former foster mother, a special needs mother, an infertility survivor, a military spouse and many other things.   When she was at last able to carry a child, she knew she had to help other families who couldn’t.   She carried three babies for other families as a surrogate.

Julia constantly pours into the lives of her husband and two daughters and to her friends and anyone else she comes across.

She gives of her mind, heart and body to make the world a better, kinder, more loving place.

Her family has been dreaming of having a farm together.   As a family they have worked tirelessly to make this dream a reality.    They have spent hours saving and working together as a family of four to raise the funds to create their dream.  One step at a time.

They have spent as much effort to learn together.   They have done research, visited farms for lessons and grown together to make their dream a true family venture.

In the last few months, they worked to build a beautiful small barn and an incredible area for two little baby goats.   Once the little ones were born, Julia and her family would visit them almost daily until it was time for them to come home and live with them.    These babies were so loved even before they were earth side.

They were Polly and Oscar.

Very early in the morning on November 27th a tragic barn fire occurred and both of them were lost after such a brief time with this beautiful family.

Julia’s family is heartbroken.   They are grieving the loss of these lives that they had so invested in.   They are also grieving the affect this has had on their dream.  Julia and her husband Warren, are working together to help their young children process the loss.     They are working towards being able to process this tragedy and salvage their dream.

Those of us who are fortunate enough to have the Ross family in our lives, just want to help.   We are all feeling heartbroken and are desperate to find a way to make this burden easier to bear.

Of course, the heartbreak itself can’t just be repaired easily.  Fortunately, Julia and Warren are incredible people and will help their children process and learn from this.

What can be repaired is the actual practical and financial loss.   Sadly, when tragedy occurs, this is often one of the biggest stressors.   I am so grateful to Julia for (albeit reluctantly) giving me permission to give us all a way to help them.   It’s so hard when you love someone, want to help, but feel helpless.   I know many others will also be grateful to have a practical way to help.

They lost the cost of the barn, hundreds of dollars of straw and feed, the investment in the little lives as well as some logistical costs in dealing with the situation.

If you are able to help by giving to the cause or even just by sharing this page, I know that Julia, Warren, Carrie and Sophie would be endlessly grateful.    I hope we can work together to show them that even in tough and discouraging times, there is hope and there is love.
