for our Brother Andre Guzman
It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of our Brother, Andre Guzman F’ 06 Delta Chapter of Theta Gamma.
If you knew Andre, you knew his smile and laugh, and his heart of absolute gold.
Andre was the very essence of compassion and selflessness. Someone with a natural ability to cheer you up, to light up the room with his smile, and to make sure you felt heard in a room full of people.
He loved to cook, travel, and explore. He genuinely cared about everyone and always tried to keep the peace within the fraternal family. He was loyal to a fault and just always had a smile on his face. His commitment to service and giving back in a time of need is unparalleled throughout his life and travels.
Andre would always enter a room with big hugs and an ear-to-ear smile and made sure you knew you were welcome and that he was happy to see you. He is someone that no one ever had anything bad to say about, and was the designated cook on more than one occasion. He'd make a joke that would make you laugh...think... and then laugh again, and you'd appreciate that even more.
Today is our chance to say thank you for the way Andre brightened our lives by giving back to his family in a time of need. We all feel cheated that you are gone so soon, so suddenly, and so young. We also are grateful for the time we got with you, the chance to know you, the chance for you to share your life with us.
Only now that you are gone do we truly appreciate what we are now without and we want you to know that life without you is very, very difficult.
No amount is too small, and any contribution you are able to make, in lieu of reimbursing his family's expenses, will go directly to setting up a scholarship in Andre's name per his family's direction.
