My Brother Randy Rubestello
Donation protected
Why do bad things happen to good people? I am making this go fund me page for my brother Randy.
Our hearts broke when we found out a year and a half ago that he was diagnosed with a very rare kidney disease; sometimes referred to as Berger’s disease, IgA nephropathy is a kidney disease that causes the kidneys to become inflamed. IgA nephropathy cannot be prevented and has no cure. Some people are able to live with the disease without many complications. But half of the people who do get IgA nephropathy may progress to end stage renal failure, doctors advised him that in about three years he would need a kidney transplant. Here we are now not even 2 years later and the doctors are shocked to see that his kidneys are only functioning at 10% he is going to need a kidney transplant by June.
I went to the doctors the other day to only find out that due to my own health issues I was being refused as a donor. My heart sank and I couldn't help the tears from rolling down my face; this is my brother, my friend, my hero, the man who I always looked up to and protected me throughout my whole life. I feel as his baby sister I need to come forward and try to help him somehow. Randy, has been so strong since his diagnosis. An incredible father to his young son, loving fiancé, son, Uncle, brother-in-law and friend. He has worked even through his exhaustion that this disease has caused him. He is trying to stay as strong as he could to provide for his son and himself.
I ask you for your prayers that he finds a donor within this short time-frame he has been given. Once he has the transplant the hard part still isn’t over, it will be weeks for his recovery but also he will be placed on immunosuppressant drugs. This will force him to no longer be able to work for at least four months, which will cause a huge financial hardship for his family. Any donation would be greatly appreciated, every little bit counts. There is no donation to big or to small. My family and I can not thank you enough, please keep My Brother in your thoughts and prayers.
Randy, always remember your baby sister loves you unconditionally and I will do whatever I have to do to help you!! You are my everything.
