The group was created to assist Mako Beridze.
Mako was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, ALS).
This is a progressive disease characterized by degeneration of motor neurons in the cerebral cortex, trunk and spinal cord.
Currently, there is no conservative therapy to treat the disease. The goal of doctors is to provide supportive and palliative measures aimed at improving the quality of life of patients, but even medicines are not available in Georgia and the family has to look for them worldwide, on black market.
At the same time, clinics are being searched, but we received a promising response only from the Cell Therapy Center, Hanyang Univ. From the Medical Center, which offers stem cell treatment, but requires the patient to travel to Korea (the medicine can not be delivered, since it`s valid only for 48 hours).
The course of treatment consists of three phases. Each phase costs approximately $ 36,000, for a total of $ 108,000, plus research and hospitalization costs on site.
We agree that one ordinary family cannot mobilize this amount. Therefore, we decided to get together and help Mako overcome this serious illness.
